Agentic — Formal Definition
An agentic system is any software entity that can perceive context, formulate goals, plan actions, and execute them autonomously under explicit constraints, while exposing interfaces for delegation (user can set the level of autonomy) and explanations (the system can justify its actions). In short: sense → decide → act → explain, with guardrails.
- Context awareness: memory, tools, and environment signals.
- Delegated autonomy: manual → co-pilot → auto.
- Outcome orientation: SLOs & feedback close the loop.
playML — A Practical Loop
Our working theory, playML, treats product usage like a learning game: make it safe to play, observe signals, and let models improve where play reveals value. Concretely: design for exploration, capture high-signal interactions, and upgrade models or policies in small, reversible steps.
- Low-friction experimentation (feature flags, eval sandboxes).
- Telemetry with purpose (privacy-preserving, decision-focused).
- Tight CI/CD for models & prompts (guardrail tests, cost caps).
